Pope names Croatia's new Apostolic Nuncio

After the former Apostolic Nuncio to Croatia, Mario Roberto Cassari was appointed to serve in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana and Swaziland, Pope Benedict XVI has named Monsignor Alessandro D'Errico as the new Apostolic Nuncio in Croatia.

Alessandro D'Errico, who was born in Naples, Italy and is 61-years-of age, was the former Apostolic Nuncio to Bosnia-Herzegovina and Montenegro. 
D'Errico was ordained a priest on in 1974 and incardinated in the diocese of Aversa.

Croatia's new Apostolic Nuncio has a Ph.D. in philosophy and served as the Papal representative in Thailand, Brazil, Greece, and in the Prefecture of the Pontifical House, and later in the Apostolic Nunciature in Italy and Poland.

Apart from Italian, D'Errico speaks French, Spanish and English.
