Our Sunday Visitor to distribute Vatican newspaper in English

Our Sunday Visitor, one of the largest Catholic publishers in North America, has been selected by the Vatican as the exclusive distributor of the English Edition of L’Osservatore Romano, the semi-official Vatican newspaper.

L’Osservatore Romano publishes papal discourses, texts and documents, reports on the events of the Church and Pope Benedict XVI, and provides news of cultural debates and international life from the perspective of the Catholic Church.

“This is a partnership that works well for both entities,” said Greg Erlandson, president and publisher of Our Sunday Visitor. “Our Sunday Visitor is able to expand on our mission to serve the Church in a very direct way and assist the Vatican in its mission at the same time. Plus, the Vatican is able to take full advantage of our leadership position as one of the largest publishing and distribution houses in the United States.”

Our Sunday Visitor publishes several periodicals and has more than 1,700 Catholic books, pamphlet and textbook titles in print.

In partnership with Vatican publishing house Libreria Editrice Vaticana, Our Sunday Visitor has published more than 18 books by Pope Benedict XVI.

Our Sunday Visitor will begin distributing L’Osservatore Romano in August and will also provide fulfillment, customer service, and marketing support for the newspaper.

The focus will be promotion to individual Catholics, parishes, dioceses and other Catholic organizations.

Our Sunday Visitor was established in 1912 by a local parish priest and future archbishop, John Francis Noll.
