The Catholic Church in Argentina has broken its ties with the Scout
Association of the country due to recent changes in its educational
project concerning the concept of family, and issues such as abortion.
The interruption of the relationship was made public through a letter
published by local media.
In a message addressed to the bishop of the city of La Plata (in the
great Buenos Aires), His Exc. Mgr. Héctor Aguer, Cardinal Mario Poli,
said that there is "no turning back" in the disagreement with the Scout
Association of Argentina after several months of warnings.
